Boarding

At Vermont Academy, every decision teachers make is driven by an emphasis on what is best for each student. Through our specialized college-prep curriculum and course offerings, we're able to provide something that interests all students. Through hands-on, purposeful learning, we facilitate the growth of each individual student, preparing them for a dynamically changing world, and our college counseling team works one-on-one with students to help them find a college that targets their best interests and abilities.

With a world-class theater to phenomenal visual art spaces, there are no limits to what our visual and performing artists can do. Traditions like our 24-hour play and a ninth grade arts program helps make arts a prominent part of the Vermont Academy experience. From graphic design to musicals to the jazz ensemble, every student at Vermont Academy has the opportunity to get involved in the arts.

We also offer a robust athletics program with 14 varsity sports offered, such as hockey, basketball, and soccer. Our Mountain Sports program includes 30km of mountain bike trails on our campus, a climbing wall, and a mountain campus at Mount Snow where our elite student athletes train in world class snowboard and ski development programs with Vermont Academy at Mount Snow.

Vermont Academy is a coed boarding school in a stunning natural setting, and our residential program is an integral part of our students’ lives. Living with peers and dorm parents strengthens the relationships within our community. Our residential program strives to maintain a family atmosphere, while gradually preparing students for the challenges of independent living in college. We have students from all over the United States and international students from over 20 different countries.

Vermont Academy is a small New England private coed boarding school and day school for grades nine through post-graduate (PG), renowned for handcrafting an extraordinarily unique education for each student, located in the majestic Green Mountains.
